Nova Weetman

Nova is a writer of sixteen books for younger readers.

Her middle grade novel, The Secrets We Keep, was a CBCA Notable, shortlisted for the Readings Children’s Prize, shortlisted for the ABIA Awards, shortlisted for the Speech Pathologist Awards, shortlisted for the YABBA Awards 2018 and shortlisted for the Sakura Medal in Japan.

Nova's second and third books in this series were also CBCA Notables, shortlisted for the YABBA and Koala Awards, and shortlisted for the ABIA Awards.

Her book Sick Bay won the YABBA and Koala Award 2021 for Best Book for Older Readers, was a CBCA Notable, shortlisted for the ABIA Awards and recently named a Bank Street Book of the Year in the US. The Edge of Thirteen won the ABIA award in 2022 for Best Children’s Book by a Small Publisher.

Nova is a regular on ABC Radio talking about historic children’s books in Australia. Her latest book The Jammer was released in October 2022 and has been shortlisted for the ABIA Book of the Year for Older Children.
