Mandy Ord is a cartoonist, illustrator, comic teacher, and disability support worker. Her first book, Rooftops (Finlay Lloyd) 2008 was followed by Sensitive Creatures (Allen & Unwin) in 2011, receiving a White Ravens Award at the Bologna Book Fair.
She has contributed stories to Meanjin, The Age, The Goethe Institute, The Suburban Review, Going Down Swinging and The Lifted Brow. In 2018 she illustrated her first book for children, Chalk Boy published by Allen & Unwin and written by Margaret Wild which was shortlisted in 2019 by CBCA and the Queensland Literary Awards for Picture Book of the Year.
Mandy has collaborated with theatre companies, writers, musicians, historians, local Wiradjuri language experts, augmented reality designers and audio units for online content. In 2020 her book When One Person Dies The Whole World is Over published by Brow Books was longlisted for The Stella Prize and shortlisted for the Small Press Network Book of the Year.
